At The Refreshing Sleep Center, we understand that sleep therapy is a new experience for many. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions to help you feel informed and confident about your treatment.

Sleep Disorders Treated

Dr. Wilk provides therapy for a range of sleep disorders, helping patients improve their sleep quality and overall well-being.
 

Conditions that Improve with Therapy:

✔ Insomnia – The most common sleep disorder treated with therapy.
✔ Nightmares – Especially those related to trauma or PTSD.
✔ Circadian Rhythm Disorders – Such as delayed sleep phase or shift work sleep disorder.
✔ CPAP/BiPAP/APAP Tolerance – Behavioral therapy to improve comfort and compliance.
✔ Some Parasomnias – Such as sleepwalking or night terrors, depending on the severity.

 

Conditions Requiring Medical Treatment:

Some sleep disorders require medication or medical interventions. If Dr. Wilk identifies that your condition falls into one of the following categories, she will refer you to a medical provider for further evaluation:

✔ Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS)
✔ Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD)
✔ REM Behavior Disorder (RBD)
✔ Narcolepsy
✔ Central or Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)
✔ Some Parasomnias – Such as complex sleep-related movement disorders.
